Closed hot corridor is an alternative concept to closed cold corridor (more HERE).

In this case, the area on the back side of IT racks is closed off.

If row based cooling units are used, there are no differences in the implementation compared to cold aisles.

However, significant changes in design and installation are needed with the use of hot aisles or central cooling system. It is necessary to build up an exhaust chimney in the entire width of the aisle between the rear part of the IT racks and the ceiling. Such solution, unlike cold corridor, is much more demanding – it requires the coordination of several professions, makes it impossible to route cable trays through the chimney area and so on – which consequently makes this type of closed corridor less popular.
